CVUT Student Guide
This guide explains the main CVUT systems by task. It is written as a routing aid for students who need to know where to start before opening an official university page.
First Week Setup
Start with the initial CTU password instructions, then confirm your identity details in UserMap. After that, check KOS for study records, Moodle for course materials, Outlook for university email, and the eduroam instructions for Wi-Fi access.
- Initial CTU password is the normal starting point after admission.
- UserMap is used for identity details, roles, contacts, and password-related tasks.
- Student IT guide is the broad official checklist for accounts and IT services.
KOS, Moodle, and Course Pages
KOS is the administrative study system. Use it for course enrollment, timetable records, exam dates, classifications, and study-plan information. Moodle is the teaching workspace, so it usually contains lecture materials, assignments, quizzes, forum posts, and teacher announcements.
Some faculties also publish public course pages outside Moodle. Those pages are useful for syllabi, programming assignments, lecture notes, and course-specific tools, but they do not replace official KOS records.
Accounts, Email, and Support
If a login fails across several services, check the CTU password and account status first. If only Wi-Fi fails, use the eduroam password guide because network access can use different credentials. For unresolved access problems, ServiceDesk is the central support route.
- Use Outlook for the university mailbox and official student communication.
- Use ServiceDesk when a service is unavailable, a role is missing, or an account change does not propagate.
- Do not send passwords, private study records, or screenshots with sensitive personal data when asking for help.
Dormitories and Meals
SUZ pages handle dormitory applications, extensions, move-in instructions, deposits, accommodation contacts, canteen information, and dining rules. Agata is the practical entry point for canteen menus and daily meal planning.
Before contacting an office, check whether the question is about accommodation, payments, ISKAM access, card use, or dining. Those topics often have separate FAQ pages and different contact points.
Printing, Library, and Faculty Pages
Printing is not fully uniform across CVUT. FIT printing, FSv plotter services, and FEL 3D printing each have their own rules, locations, and submission steps. For books, databases, theses, and consultations, start with the CTU Library and CTU Digital Library.
Faculty websites are still important even when a central CVUT service exists. They often publish local student guides, room information, study department contacts, lab rules, and first-year instructions.
How To Use This Site
Use the link board for fast navigation and this guide for context. When the site links to an official page, that page controls the final details. CVUT Crossroad should help you find the right place, not replace the official source.
